About the Event

The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Bedford is pleased to announce a new workshop in conjunction with the current exhibition “Color, Light, and the Outdoors” This artist demonstration will be by Kevin Kutz on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $15 per person and space is limited to fifteen attendants.

Kevin Kutz will demonstrate woodcuts, watercolor, oil, furnace soot, charcoal, and mark making with pencil all while looping a song with various instruments! Light refreshments will be available. On the artist, “Kevin Kutz used to work mostly en plein air but changed his mode of painting after cancer treatment. He worked in other mediums and took on several years of commission work including a painting of Dr. John Anderson which currently hangs at the SAMA Bedford location. Kutz resolved to break from commission work and began to get back to his true form. He was given the ability to use a large Victorian home as a studio space and produced forty new pieces which were shown during a special one-day exhibition in 2021. Over the years, Kutz has earned acclaim for his impressionistic paintings depicting our region. His work is a beautiful biography of Southwestern Pennsylvania.”
