Planned Giving Made Easy
Planned giving has to do with money a donor will lose anyway (taxes, estate taxes, etc.) but it is a process that the donor can control. Planned giving can help achieve one’s philanthropic goals without detracting from financial goals—sometimes augmenting them.
At times, individuals have a desire to leave a lasting memorial of good work with their wealth. SAMA is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and, as such, any contributions from an estate could have tax advantages, depending on the particular circumstances.
SAMA is an accredited art museum. Our principal galleries and offices are located on the campus of St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, but we also have sites in Altoona, Johnstown and Ligonier. Contributions could be designated to benefit any particular one of the sites in accordance with the donor’s wishes.
Our principal activities are the collecting and exhibition of American art. While our exhibitions tend to concentrate on Pennsylvania artists, we also bring to our audiences, as the budget permits, exhibitions of national and international consequence.
Of almost equal importance are our educational programs, which serve over 25,000 students annually. We are especially proud of our Museum/Healthcare Partnership Program, which brings the arts into regional hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
The Museum will notify the person of your tribute gift and you will receive a receipt and letter thanking you for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
