This collection of modern magnum paperweights was presented to the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in 1989 as a gift of the Frank and Margaret Sullivan Fund in honor of the Museum’s first curator, Michael Allison.  Representing some of the leading glass artists of the last quarter of the twentieth century, it includes examples of work by Bob Banford, Chris Buzzini, Gilbert Poillerat, Daniel Salazar, and Paul Stankard.  International in scope, the collection also contains a number of classic paperweight designs by the Whitefriars Glass Company of England, Perthshire Paperweights of Scotland, and St. Louis Glass of France.
